This is a pattern I came up with for the "fly dress" skirt that was suggested on Facebook. I didn't have yardage in the right fabric to pull off what I wanted to in the second diagram but if you don't get the gist you can ask me :)
This shows an idea on how to panel your fabric. If you have two pieces of fabric that are 250-360 inches long you can take one of the pieces and cut it the length down the middle so you have 2 - 30 inch by 250inch and one 60 inch by 250 inch. You can sew the lengths of each 30 inch panel to their own side of the 60 inch panel and create a roughly 120 inch wide by 250 inch panel (less because of seam allowance but you don't need it this long usually.
I had to try it on to realize that it looked longer than it feels or appears when worn. Make sure you just get as much continuous yardage as you can.
