Figuring this out changed my mood this morning. I was struggling with how to make this buttonhole look really cool and clean and part of the embroidery all over this piece already. I cut a couple of flowers from the embroidered tulle I was using that happened to be the same size as my button and voila. Wrapped my buttonhole in flowers.
Finds two patches of fabric or embroidery that are the size of your button.
Cut your buttonhole just a smidge smaller than your button
You put the patch in the buttonhole and fold it backwards so when you sew it down it binds the side of the buttonhole!
